If you’re looking for a budget way to extend the run time and upgrade the performance of Traxxas Bigfoot 4×4 BL, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve tested and compared a wide range of 2S hardcase lipos on the market and have narrowed it down to the 3 BEST lipos for the Bigfoot. Let’s quickly check them out so you can make an informed choice with ease!
Best Budget Battery
HOOVO 7200mAh 2S 7.4V 100C Lipo with Traxxas Connector
- Size: 139 x 47 x 25 mm
- Weight: 330g
Highlight: Long Run Time | Budget | Traxxas Connector
Compared to the stock batteries, this one delivers more punch, boosting the Bigfoot’s acceleration and giving it the edge on all-terrain. When running, I was impressed by how smoothly the Bigfoot handled ramp sends and bumps, it’s like a beast in action.
IMO, the biggest highlight is that it costs $$$ only 1/3 compared to the stock battery. So, even though the C rate might be slightly higher than the actual value, I think it’s totally acceptable hehe.
BTW, the connector on this battery is fully compatible with the Bigfoot male connector, which is why it’s such a popular choice.
Best Long Run Time Battery
Nihewo 8500mAh 2S 7.4V 100C Lipo with EC5 Connector
- Size: 139 x 47 x 26 mm
- Weight: 340g
Highlight: Long Run Time | Budget
Are you looking for more run time? This battery not only fits the Bigfoot perfectly, locking securely into its tray, but also offers max. mah—likely the highest you can find for the Bigfoot right now. With 8500mah, it lets you keep hard bashing for nearly 1.5 to 2h, delivering smooth and consistent power throughout the entire full throttle run.
Whether you’re into casual bashing or speed running, this battery provides the Bigfoot’s BL power system with plenty of wattage.
Best Performance Battery
Gensace 5200mAh 2S 7.4V 35C Lipo with XT60 Connector
- Size: 138 x 46 x 25 mm
- Weight: 275g
Highlight: High Punch | Stout | Non-voltage sag | Low IR
If you’re tired of low quality lipos, Gensace are worth considering. They deliver the performance you need while reducing headaches. Although this battery offers slightly less mah compared to others, it has some pros:
The cell voltage gap is minimal and remains balanced over time, with no noticeable drop in run time or power.
Its true discharge rate didn’t disappoint me. In testing, the voltage remained more stable under high current continuous discharge compared to other batteries. This means that even during extended full throttle runs, it consistently provides the Bigfoot with plenty of wattage.
BTW, the loooow IR of this battery is another standout feature. There’s no heating during fast charging, and the actual mah is very close to the rated 5200mah.
About Connector
Since Traxxas connectors use proprietary technology, they are not compatible with EC5, XT60, or Deans, etc. However, there are 2 ways to solve the issue of connecting a battery to the Bigfoot:
- Use an adapter, such as a Traxxas female to EC5 male adapter. It’s simple and convenient.
- Change the connector to the one you prefer. This requires the right tools and some experience, for example, cutting off the Traxxas connector and soldering on an XT60.
Which RC connector is better???
IMO, XT60 is the better choice for Bigfoot 4×4 BL. It not only handles high current for extended periods but is also compatible with most lipo chargers on the market.
