Battery Requirements for Axial SCX10 III

Size: The SCX10 III comes with a shorty battery tray and a standard battery tray, both of which are expandable in length and height, so there’s a wide range of batteries to choose from. In order to get a good balance between running and climbing, we usually use a lipo battery about 138mm long.

Capacity: For a 1/10 scale rc crawler, a lipo battery of around 5000mah is commonly used, as it strikes a good balance between runtime, power and weight. In addition, 3000 to 5500mAh can provide about 1 to 1.5 hours of runtime.

Voltage: The stock brushed motor of the SCX10 III only supports 6 cells nimh or 2s lipo. But if you have a 3s brushless version of the SCX10 III, then it will need to run 3s lipo for optimal performance.

C-rate: The RC crawler specializes in climbing rather than speedrunning, so a C-rate of 35C or higher will be sufficient for the SCX10 III’s watt needs.

Sonnector: EC3 (male), compatible with IC3.

Soft case or hard case: Prefer hard case battery, durable and waterproof.
