Compared to major brands like Gens Ace, Zeee Lipo batteries are more attractively priced and have garnered a significant fan base. But how do these batteries actually perform? Are they worth considering? To find out, I tested several models and compared them directly with Gens Ace batteries. Now, let’s take a look at the results and analyze the findings together.
Zeee vs. Gens Ace
Zeee 5200mAh 2S 50C (pic 1) vs. Gens Ace 5200mAh 2S 35C (pic 2)—I’ve compared the discharge performance of these two batteries with similar specs by discharging them at 20A, from 4.2V per cell down to 3.3V.
Discharge Wattage: Gens Ace wins. The curve clearly shows that throughout the discharge process, the voltage of the Zeee battery drops faster, indicating that its actual discharge wattage is lower compared to the Gens Ace battery.
Capacity and Run Time: Gens Ace wins, delivering an actual capacity of 5124mAh, which is very close to the advertised 5200mAh, with a run time of 15:44. In comparison, the Zeee battery only managed 4653mAh, nearly 500mAh less, with a run time of 14:24.
Cell Voltage Gap and IR: Gens Ace also has a slight edge, with a more small cell voltage gap and lower IR. These differences are reflected in the discharge wattage and run time.
Hardcase: Gens Ace wins. The hardcase is one of the more noticeable differences between the two. Gens Ace’s hardcase construction is very sturdy, while the Zeee’s hardcase feels thinner and doesn’t seem as well-filled. In the event of a strong impact or heavy bumps, the Gens Ace hardcase provides excellent physical protection for the cells inside.
Wire and Connector: There’s no significant difference between the two in this aspect.
Summary
Compared to the major brands, Zeee batteries fall slightly short in most areas, offering about 90% of the quality. They’re definitely not suitable for competitive use, as the battery directly impacts throttle response and overall performance. However, given their price, I believe they are a great option for hobby-level RC models, as their performance is sufficient to meet basic power needs. Additionally, based on my personal experience, Zeee’s support is excellent, with prompt responses and fast shipping.
